Direct motion
A planet moving forward against the stars — which is what it does most of the time.
Direct is the default, so nobody mentions it except right after a retrograde ends: "Mercury has gone direct."
Worth knowing: the planet doesn't snap back to normal speed. It takes weeks to re-cover the ground it lost, a stretch often called the shadow period. So "it went direct, we're fine now" doesn't hold up astronomically — the direction changed, the position hasn't caught up.
